The Start

This is the story of my journey to pursue my dreams, I’ll be explaining where I’m at along the way, so here it goes!

About a month ago I was watching a few YouTube videos as I normally do and I started watching a lot of Gary Vaynerchuk’s videos. For those of you who do not know who that is, he is an entrepreneur that runs VaynerMedia and his videos are motivational in nature. His basic message is that if you want to pursue entrepreneurship, which I major in at UT Dallas, pick something that you’re passionate about and create a business around it. For over 4 years I have thought about starting my own esports organization, for reference think of the Dallas Mavericks but instead of basketball it is professional video games. Now usually when I mention this to people, this is where you immediately start thinking of the 40 year old guy that lives in his mom’s basement and plays video games all day, eats Doritos, and drinks Mountain Dew. In reality it isn’t like that. If you want to learn a little more I suggest going to this great website called Google, esports should be on there 🙂.

Anyway I realized that I wanted to start pursuing this dream and to stop just sitting on my butt and thinking about it. It is going to take a lot of work but so far I have loved it every step of the way. I have reached out to some very wise businessmen that have pointed me in the right direction. I have also started to reach out to a few people in the hopes that I can gain a bit of work experience in the esports industry and in the mean time I have also started my own podcast about esports. Hopefully within the week I will have published the first 2 episodes (they are already recorded and now being edited). So be on the lookout for the Esports Bar Podcast!

I’m excited for what the future holds and I just wanted to document my pursuit of my goal, so that people can be encouraged, motivated, and hopefully I can inspire you to pursue your passion too! Thanks for reading this long post. I think I’ll make this a weekly thing! 😀
